At 22 years old, Theresa was just beginning her life. She had so much ahead of her… so much laughter, so much happiness, and so much hope for things to come. Unfortunately, her life was tragically cut short when another driver chose to drink and drive.

Last year more than 600 people were killed in alcohol-related crashes in Illinois. At times we may feel the problem of drinking and driving is too overwhelming and that there is nothing we can do to solve the problem. However, we will not accept the fact that Theresa died in vain.

Peanut’s Annual Walk for Life was started to raise awareness of the terrible consequences of drunk driving and to help other victims of drunk drivers. Proceeds from this walk will be donated to the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists to provide financial assistance to needy crash victims and to support their prevention and education programs.

If we can keep just one intoxicated driver off the road and save just one life, then our efforts have served a purpose – after all, it was just one man who took Theresa’s life.

Your support for this year’s Walk for Life would be greatly appreciated and will help us in our efforts to save innocent lives.
